Calling all ADHD Specialists: Help Shape the Next Generation of ADHD-Friendly Technology

Open call to share your thoughts on what tools can help those with ADHD thrive and what needs to be built

My name is Andrew, and I'm an app developer and someone who lives with ADHD. I’ve been building tools that aim to change the environment rather than rely on willpower alone.

My first product, Heyday, is a free Chrome extension that helps people reshape the internet for focus. It allows users to:

  • Turn distracting websites grayscale
  • Remove addictive interface elements like newsfeeds, reels, and recommendations
  • Set custom schedules for limiting or blocking sites
  • Reduce visual and algorithmic stimulation without fully disconnecting

The premise is simple: instead of asking someone with ADHD to resist the system, redesign the system. But here’s the reality: tools built in isolation often miss the nuance of clinical practice.

That’s why I’m looking to speak directly with:

  • ADHD coaches
  • Therapists
  • Psychologists
  • Psychiatrists
  • Family doctors working with ADHD patients

I’m currently exploring new solutions for families, students, and professionals, and I want those solutions grounded in real-world therapeutic insight.

What I’m Trying to Understand

I’m especially interested in learning:

  • Where digital tools genuinely support progress
  • Where they miss the point entirely
  • Where they create unintended friction or shame
  • Where they’re too complex to realistically stick
  • What would meaningfully support clients between sessions

Many productivity and “focus” apps unintentionally replicate the same pressures ADHD clients already feel. I want to avoid that.

This isn’t a sales call. It’s research. I’m looking for candid feedback, even if it’s critical.

If you’re open to sharing your perspective, I’d really appreciate and value a short conversation.
